We work with professionals and a wide range of organisations in order to deliver the best possible service to unpaid carers in Dorset.
If you identify a carer through your work, a referral to Carer Support Dorset will help them to access support locally.
We can offer:
- Regular news updates
- Free support line on 0800 368 8349
- Workshops and training
- Here to talk befriending service
- Dorset Carers Card for discounts
- Young Carers service
Once registered, a carer will be able to access to free training, befriending and a Dorset Carers Card that offers local discounts.
After a conversation with a Carer Adviser, any action or support plan is personal to the carer. It might result in;
- Providing information or advice (Signposting)
- Referral to other services
- Referral for a Carers Assessment with Dorset Council
If the person you have identified is a young carer, aged under 16, you can find out more information on our young carers website.
