A team from the Department of Health & Social Care and Dorset Council working in Adult Social Care are partnering on a project to try and improve the way people get social care, focusing on care needs assessments.

The research

They want to talk to a range of people who need or have had care assessments.

Could you help them?

Are you:
• aged 65 over and waiting for a care needs assessment or have had one recently
• aged 18 – 64 with disabilities or long-term care needs and had a care needs assessment in the last 3 months
• an informal carer/ companion/ advocate for someone who needs care but wouldn’t be able to participate in the research themselves

They are speaking to people over the next 8 weeks, the next dates are:

Tues 4th October or Weds 5th October

All conversations will be confidential, and the people they speak to will be offered support if they need it.

Their aim is to understand people’s lived experiences so that they can improve things in ways which will make a meaningful difference to them.
