This Carers Week, we want to make sure as many unpaid carers as possible know that there is help and support out there for them. Unfortunately, we know that identifying as a carer isn’t always straightforward.

It might have taken time for you to realise you were an unpaid carer (perhaps you still aren’t sure you identify with the word ‘carer’). We know many people think caring for their loved ones is just part of the job as a parent, partner, sibling etc, but this kind of thinking leads to feeling that you need to shoulder everything without outside support as it is ‘your job’. This couldn’t be further from the truth – everyone deserves help and support if they are struggling and that is why we’re inviting you to take part in this short survey.

Carer Support Dorset wants to understand more about your experience: how and when you first recognised you were an unpaid carer, what might have helped you to realise it sooner, and what kind of support has been the most helpful to you.

By filling out this 3-minute survey, you can help us find better ways to reach and support those who may be caring in silence, unaware that help is available.

Your voice is incredibly important this Carers Week and we want to amplify it to help you, and others receive the best support we can give.
