Our Carer Support Dorset community, we would like to tell you about an upcoming change to support services for unpaid carers in Dorset.

Carer Support Dorset has been incredibly proud to support unpaid carers across the area for 6 years. We have built communities, given support to those in need and have become experts in how to help carers live the lives they deserve.

Unfortunately, following the recent tender process with Dorset Council, a new provider – Help & Care – will be taking over the delivery of these services from 22nd November 2025.

We are of course very disappointed with this outcome; however, our top priority continues to be you – the carers we support. With this change approaching, we want to be mindful of how important clear communication is. To avoid any confusion, please be aware that we may choose not to attend some events or speak publicly in the weeks leading up to the transition. We want to ensure carers are not left uncertain about where to turn or who will be supporting them moving forward.

Between now and November 22nd, we will be working closely with Help & Care to make sure the handover of carer services is as smooth as possible. In due course, we will aim to share detailed and up-to-date information about the new service and how carers can continue to access the support they need via Help & Care.

Although we won’t be here anymore as the Carer Support Dorset you know, we will continue exclusively running our Carer Money Matters program to support you with any financial worries you may have.
