Stepping into Nature have recently created some dementia friendly ‘Walk Dorset’s History’ self-led guides.

The walks contain lots of prompts to help people really engage with their surroundings and to have interesting discussions with others on the walk with them.

The walks cover about 1-2 miles and take a suggested 90 minutes to walk, sit and enjoy reading the information. They often have regular seats on the walk and cover pretty accessible routes.

There are six walks in total covering Blandford Forum, Cerne Abbas, Eastern Dorchester and Fordington, Swanage, Sherborne and Weymouth.

The walks can be downloaded online or a printed copy can be sent in the post on request from stepin2nature@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk.
