Lyn Cesarz

Carer Adviser

I was born in Essex, but moved to Dorset as a teenager. I am a Registered Nurse. In my career, I have worked with the elderly and particularly those with dementia, carrying out memory assessments and supporting individuals and their families following a diagnosis. After my role became redundant, I moved into Occupational Health for many years supporting those with health conditions and signposting them where to find support. More recently, I had a very demanding role as a Registered Manager of a home care provider with 400 home care clients and 120 staff. In this role I supported many unpaid carers who struggled in their caring roles. I was able to signpost them to services who could help them, as often, people don’t know where to turn. I had been looking for a role where I could focus on supporting others who are in unpaid caring roles. I am a carer for my mother and I know how exhausting this can be at times. I am married to a musician and have 2 sons, one of whom is also a musician. I enjoy music, theatre, walking, sea swimming as well as aqua aerobics. I am also the safeguarding lead for my local church.
